The Whole Class Reward System That Encourages Positive Behaviour- Star Jar!

Whole class rewards are a fantastic way to foster a positive classroom culture and cultivate a collaborative learning environment. Today, I’m excited to share an incredibly simple and effective whole-class reward system with you – the Star Jar!

The Star Jar is a user-friendly, printable resource that requires minimal preparation. Once set up, it becomes a dynamic tool to keep students engaged in making positive choices within the classroom.

How the Star Jar Works:

In our classroom, we take a collaborative approach by voting on the goals we want to achieve. Some of our all-time favourites include building sheet forts, hosting disco parties, enjoying free time, and embracing Flashlight Friday.

Once the class decides on a goal, we kick off the journey by earning stars for our Star Jar. Stars are awarded when students consistently make positive learning choices, collaborate effectively as a team, and follow directions promptly. In essence, we earn a star when the class is on fire with enthusiasm for learning!

One of the standout features of this class management approach is its ability to unite the entire class. The Star Jar not only motivates individuals to make positive choices but also encourages a collective awareness of each student’s needs.

By fostering a sense of community, students become champions for one another, creating an environment where everyone is invested in the success of their peers. This collaborative spirit enhances the overall learning experience and contributes to a positive classroom culture. Download here!
